Dr. Paul Enenche, the Senior Pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, has revealed the reason behind his decision to reject a N30 million donation from the Governor of Kebbi State, Nasir Idris.
News had circulated that governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State had donated N30 million to Pastor Enenche, but he rejected the money. A lot of Nigerians have been wondering why he rejected the money.
Speaking during a Sunday sermon at the Dunamis headquarters in Abuja, Enenche explained that his choice was not personal but based on a long-standing principle to keep government money out of his ministry.
He noted that for over 20 years, he has consistently refused financial support from government sources, whether directly or indirectly, to maintain his independence and preserve the integrity of his message.

“For some people, that may be a surprise because they don’t know who we are. But those who know us, that’s no surprise at all. That’s how we’ve lived, and that’s what we’ve stood for,” he said.
He recalled how in 2014, during a national trip to Jerusalem organized by the Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board and attended by then-President Goodluck Jonathan and several governors, he funded his own travel and refused any honorarium offered to him upon return.
“By the time we returned, the board chairman brought an offering and said this is their honorarium to me for going, I said no,” he said.
Enenche pointed out that former President Jonathan worshipped at Dunamis more than once while in office, but the church never accepted financial donations from him. He stressed that their massive Glory Dome headquarters was built without any government money.
“Government funds are not in this project, not one naira,” he said.
The pastor also mentioned how he turned down a vehicle gift from a friend who later became a government minister, as well as financial support offered by former Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom.
“I don’t want to touch any dime of government money,” he said, explaining that doing so could compromise his ability to speak boldly and truthfully to those in power.
