Nollywood veteran actress Tonto Dikeh shared an emotional story about reconnecting her father with his daughter (her sister) after nearly five decades.
Tonto explained that she recently got a DM from someone claiming to be her sister. This brought back memories of a story her dad once told her: 47 years ago, before returning to Nigeria, he had a daughter he didn’t know about, leaving when she was just five months old.
After some digging, Tonto was able to connect her dad and his long-lost daughter. The reunion was emotional, with Tonto acknowledging how difficult forgiveness can be. “If it were me, I don’t know if I’d forgive him so easily,” she admitted.

In the heartfelt post, she wrote:
“My father has lost so much in his life. He lost his 1st & 2nd wife and his brother. Some days ago I was in my DM and I received a message from someone that said, “I think I’m your sister”. It took me back to when I was a child when my dad told me a story. 47 years ago, before my dad came back to Nigeria, he had a daughter, he left when she was about 5 months, and he never went back.
In fact, he didn’t know he had a daughter at that time. I was able to connect both of them. I wanted God to heal my father and sister because they have both lost so much. This would have taken years to happen. I even told my dad, if this had happened to me, I don’t know if I would have forgiven him easily. But God is still in the business of doing miracles.”
She shared photos of them together with the caption: “GOD DID A THING”
