As Nigerians continue to grapple with rising economic hardship, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has announced plans to lead a nationwide prayer focused on reviving the country’s economy.
The prayer session will take place during RCCG’s July 2025 thanksgiving service at the church’s national headquarters in Oyingbo, Lagos. Themed “Divine Intervention,” the gathering aims to seek spiritual help for Nigeria’s struggling economy.
In a statement delivered by his Special Assistant on Administration, Pastor Dele Balogun, Pastor Adeboye encouraged Nigerians not to give in to despair. “Our nation, Nigeria, as well as other nations of the world, are going through a challenging time. However, the good news is that these challenges are surmountable by faith, if we do not entertain doubt,” he said.

He urged citizens to stop speaking negatively about the country and instead embrace faith-based thinking, believing God can reverse the economic decline.
Adeboye emphasized that the prayer session is not just a religious gathering but a national call for spiritual renewal, hope, and a turning point for Nigeria.
Pastor Olusegun Macaulay, Assistant Pastor in Charge of Province 1, RCCG, added that a dedicated prayer team is already praying consistently for the country. Their focus includes the economy, the environment, and overall national stability throughout the second half of the year.
Macaulay noted that divine opportunities often appear during tough times and are available to those who remain spiritually connected.
The RCCG says it hopes the July thanksgiving will be a spark for positive change and encourage Nigerians to look forward with renewed hope.
