The National Universities Commission (NUC) has launched a nationwide recruitment drive to fill multiple vacancies at its Abuja headquarters.
In a public notice released on Friday, the Commission invited qualified Nigerians to apply for roles across three categories: officer cadre, confidential secretaries, and clerical or auxiliary staff.
“The recruitment exercise is open to all eligible Nigerians who meet the advertised requirements. Applications are free of charge and must be submitted only through the official careers portal,” the notice stated.

Interested applicants are directed to visit careers.nuc.edu.ng or nuc.edu.ng for full details and guidelines. The Commission emphasized that applications must be completed within six weeks from the announcement date. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for the next phase of screening.
For the officer cadre, available positions include Senior Officer (CONTISS 9), Officer I/Trainee (CONTISS 8), and Officer II/Trainee (CONTISS 7).
According to the NUC, candidates applying for the Senior Officer role must possess a PhD in a relevant field, or a Master’s degree with a minimum of six years post-qualification experience. Relevant professional certifications will also serve as an added advantage.
The Commission reassured applicants that the recruitment process is transparent and strictly merit-based.
