
Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, has been honoured with three international awards at the 2025 Global Power Forum in New York, held on the sidelines of the 80th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
According to a statement by his Press Secretary, Christian Aburime, Soludo received the African Public Service Excellence Award, the African Governor of the Year Award, and a Certificate of Special Recognition from the House of Representatives of South Carolina, USA.

The South Carolina legislature praised Soludo for his distinguished career as a professor of economics, former Chief Economic Adviser to President Olusegun Obasanjo, and former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria. His efforts in reforming Nigeria’s financial system and boosting the country’s economic standing in Africa were also highlighted.

At the forum, Soludo delivered a keynote address titled “Africa Unleashed: Navigating the Disruptions, Enhancing Opportunities; The Anambra State Example.”
He outlined reforms and projects currently being implemented in Anambra, aimed at positioning the state as a hub of innovation and sustainable development across Africa and the Caribbean.
