Kabiru Maipalace, the House of Representatives member for Gusau/Tsafe Federal Constituency, has completed the renovation of 80 cemeteries across communities in Zamfara State as part of his constituency projects.
The lawmaker commissioned the upgraded sites on Tuesday in Tsafe town while marking his second year in office. He explained that the initiative was inspired by the poor state of many graveyards in his constituency.
“We all know this is our final resting place. It is important we ensure these cemeteries are well maintained,” Maipalace said.

He added that Islam emphasizes the upkeep of cemeteries, noting that clean and orderly graveyards reflect respect for the dead and contribute to societal well-being.
Maipalace also announced that monthly stipends would be provided for cemetery guards and workers to ensure regular maintenance, along with the supply of necessary tools.
The lawmaker further urged residents to keep praying for peace and an end to insecurity in Zamfara while pledging support for efforts aimed at restoring safety across the state.
Commending the initiative, the District Head of Tsafe East, Aliyu Abubakar, described the renovation as timely and beneficial to the community.
