Legendary Nigerian singer Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Face/2Baba, has spoken candidly about his separation from his wife, Annie Macaulay, bringing an end to their 13-year union.
In a recent episode of the 234 Mzansi Podcast released on Monday, the 49-year-old music star revealed that while he and Annie tried their best to make the marriage work, it reached a point where it became unsustainable.
“I think both of us gave it our best. And why we’re not together today is not something I’m going to talk about publicly,” he said.

2Baba acknowledged Annie’s qualities, calling her “amazing,” but emphasized that when love or connection fades, it becomes unfair to force things. “It’s always good not to torture yourself and not to allow society or people dictate your feelings,” he added.
The couple, who tied the knot in May 2012 and have had their relationship under public scrutiny for years, officially separated in January 2025.
On the topic of relationships and fidelity, 2Baba stirred further discussion with his views on male sexuality. “A man is not built to sexually be with one woman… an individual can choose to be disciplined, but biologically, it’s not natural,” he said, adding that acknowledging this could save people from unnecessary heartbreak.
Since the split, 2Baba has reportedly moved on with Hon. Natasha Osawaru, a member of the Edo State House of Assembly. The pair’s relationship became public in February 2025 following a proposal, signaling a new chapter in the singer’s personal life.
