Nigerian controversial musician, Darlington Achakpo popularly known as Speed Darlington or Akpi was granted bail on Monday December 23, 2024 after spending almost a month in prison.
The singer who was rearrested in Owerri where he went to perform, spent 3 weeks in cell, for allegedly defaming Afropop icon Burna Boy.
Recall the Igbo Tv earlier reported that Akpi according to his legal counsel, Stanley Alieke, was locked in the underground section of the prison facility, with hardened criminals and Boko haram for merely insulting Burna Boy.

In a recent post on his Instagram story, Burna wrote saying; “When they talk nobody cares, but when I react it’s a Nuclear disaster. Y’all don’t know how lucky you are that I have too much to lose now, Walahi a lot of you would not be here no more. Anyway make I just go buy another thing relax.”
The post has gained nationwide attention, with many people throwing their weights behind Burna Boy, saying he did the right thing.
