An Igbo woman who is a legal practitioner, with the Facebook handle Chinaify Bro, has sparked debates with a post questioning the loyalty and blind support some people continue to show towards the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu.
In the post, Bro reflects upon the current state of insecurity in the South-East region linked to the activities of IPOB and asks what good or charitable deed Nnamdi Kanu has done for Ala Igbo as a leader that won him so much blind support and love from a lot of Ndigbos despite the deepening insecurity in the region.
“When we say people should love those who love them, it is for these kinds of things,” the post begins, making a case that support and loyalty should be earned, not blindly given.
She questioned what tangible contribution Kanu has personally made to the South-East region, accusing him of self-interest and ego-driven activism. “Kanu obviously loves only himself and his ego,” she wrote.

She went on to share a personal experience involving a relative who missed the opportunity to write WAEC during the period IPOB activities disrupted school exams in the region.
More pointedly, Bro asked, “What exactly has Kanu done? Has he built a road? An industry? Provided boreholes, scholarships, or even basic writing materials?”
According to her, there are no traceable community development projects or efforts to uplift the region’s youths, either through education, empowerment, or employment, done by Nnamdi Kanu.
“How does a people defend their abusers?” she asked, as she expressed disbelief that a lot of people still sympathize with someone who, in her view, has caused more harm than good to the South-East region.
Many affirmed her arguments, while some accused her of knowing little about the personality of Nnamdi Kanu.
The post seems to be a reaction to Nnamdi Kanu’s N60 million lawsuit against former presidential aide Reno Omokri over alleged defamation.
