On Monday night, Manchester City’s Rodri received the most prestigious individual award for the best men’s player in the world, which appears to be heading Vini Junior’s way.
Vini Junior refused to attend the ceremony in Paris after learning that he would not be crowned the best player in the world.
Many football fans around the world were surprised when the award was given to Rodri rather than Vini, who they all thought had a better season by winning the Champions League, La Liga, and the Super Cup.
Many supporters interpret this as a rubbery statement that Vini had a better season in terms of individual performance than Rodri, based on their statistics.
However, some football fans believe Rodri is more deserving of the award because he won the Premier League and the Euro with the Spanish national team, where he played in all games and won all of them without a penalty shootout.

Other winners include Lamin Yamal as the best young player, Emiliano Martinez as the best goalkeeper, Real Madrid as the best men’s team, and Barcelona as the best female team.
