Bishop David Abioye of the Conquerors Global Assembly has shared how he responded when his wife was diagnosed with HIV during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Speaking during a Sunday live service while preaching on the power of healing, the cleric said the shocking diagnosis was met with immediate rejection and prayers grounded in faith.

According to him, when doctors informed them that his wife had tested positive for HIV, he refused to accept the report and demanded a second test.

“During COVID-19, they said my wife had HIV. I said, ‘No, not in this body,’” Abioye recalled. “By the time they checked her again, they couldn’t find anything there.”

He explained that his reaction was driven by scriptural conviction, quoting the verse that says, “The prince of this world came to check me, and they found nothing.”

The bishop emphasized that divine healing requires aggressive faith rather than passive acceptance of sickness.

“Healing is not for gentlemen,” he said. “You don’t nurse sickness to go; you fight sickness to go.”
