Terror struck Eruku town in Kwara State on Tuesday as armed men stormed a Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) branch during a service, killing three worshippers and abducting the pastor along with several congregants.
The attack, which unfolded at the Oke Isegun branch in Ekiti Local Government Area, was captured on a livestream that recorded the moment gunfire erupted outside the church. Worshippers were seen scrambling for safety as more than five gunmen forced their way in.

Witnesses said the attackers opened fire immediately, leaving three people dead on the spot before rounding up others at gunpoint and marching them into the bush. A community leader, Benjamin Ayeoribe, revealed that Eruku has endured repeated assaults in recent weeks, with pleas for government intervention yielding little relief.
The church invasion occurred amid a wider coordinated attack on the town. Residents and travellers fled into surrounding bushes as gunshots echoed across the community. One fleeing traveller recorded a video while hiding, begging authorities to send help as vehicles were abandoned on the road.
The incident happened barely 48 hours after terrorists abducted 25 schoolgirls in Kebbi State, deepening fears over Nigeria’s worsening insecurity.
