United States President Donald Trump confirmed on Saturday night, June 21, that American forces carried out targeted airstrikes on three major nuclear sites in Iran—Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan—which he described as a “very successful” military operation. The move marks a dramatic escalation in the already tense U.S.-Iran relationship.
In a post shared on Truth Social, Trump said American fighter jets carried out the airstrikes and dropped bombs on the facilities, especially focusing on the Fordow site. According to him, all aircraft involved in the operation have exited Iranian airspace and are safely returning.
“We have completed our very successful attack on the three Nuclear sites in Iran, including Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan. All planes are now outside of Iran air space. A full payload of BOMBS was dropped on the primary site, Fordow. All planes are safely on their way home,” Trump wrote. He went on to praise the U.S. military: “Congratulations to our great American Warriors. There is not another military in the World that could have done this. NOW IS THE TIME FOR PEACE!”

Trump also delivered a press speech at the White House, congratulating the U.S. military that helped drop those bombs at Iran’s nuclear sites. He also thanked the Israeli Prime Minister for his support and partnership.
U.S. defense sources revealed that the attack was carried out using B-2 Spirit stealth bombers, equipped with 30,000-pound GBU-57A/B bunker-busting bombs. These bombs are designed to penetrate fortified underground facilities, such as the Fordow enrichment site, which is located deep inside a mountain.
The B-2 bombers used in the mission are among the most advanced in the world, capable of delivering heavy firepower without detection. With aerial refueling, the aircraft can travel globally and are flown by a two-person crew.
Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan are known as key parts of Iran’s nuclear program. Western powers have expressed concern over their uranium enrichment capabilities and possible weaponization potential.
