In the early hours of Wednesday, March 5, 2025, supporters of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan converged at the National Assembly to protest and show their solidarity for the Kogi State lawmaker over her sexual harassment allegations against the Senate President.

With their placards in hand, the supporters disrupted movement along the National Assembly building and the entrance, which prompted operatives of the Nigerian Police to spray teargas after efforts to disperse them proved abortive.

The supporters were asking that Senator Akpabio step down as the Senate President.

One of the protesters, while speaking to newsmen, said there are only four women in the 10th senate, and Senator Natasha has been the only vocal one with good records of work and achievements for her people, and that it is wrong for people to try and downplay the weight of her allegations against the Senate president, which should be seen as a serious matter.

Meanwhile, Senator Natasha today arrived at the National Assembly with her husband, Chief Emmanuel Uduaghan, as the Kogi Central representative submitted a petition of sexual harassment to the Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public, and requested that it be approved immediately.
