A Fulani herdsman in Abuja has raised a strong alarm, urging the federal government to immediately stop foreign herders from entering Nigeria, saying many of them sneak in with weapons and end up causing the violence blamed on local Fulani people.
In a video shared online, the man explained that he is a native Fulani, born and raised in Abuja, and insisted that those causing trouble are mainly migrants coming through unsecured borders. He said it makes no sense for peaceful, settled herders like him to invite strangers to destroy the same places they call home.

He questioned why security agencies allow unknown armed men from Libya, Niger, Chad and other conflict zones to enter the country when, according to him, their appearance alone shows they are not Nigerians. He accused customs officers and soldiers of looking the other way while dangerous weapons enter the country.
Beyond the security threat, he also complained that many Fulani children living in the bush lack education, which makes life harder for them. He appealed for permanent grazing settlements where herders can live with schools, clinics and good roads, saying such structures would reduce conflict.
The herdsman said Fulani people are ready to pay taxes if government provides proper grazing areas and basic services. He added that corruption among some Fulani leaders worsens the situation, as money meant for the community is often misused.
He ended by condemning the frequent discrimination against Fulani people, saying politics has overshadowed fairness in Nigeria and that many innocent herders are being unfairly blamed.
