Residents of Igboukwu community in Anambra State were thrown into shock after discovering that a young man had allegedly been locked up by his own family for nearly four years.
According to a viral video making rounds on social media, the man was found in a makeshift batcher built with rusty zinc sheets. Community youths, who stormed the house in outrage, accused the family of deceiving villagers by claiming the man had traveled abroad.

The disturbing footage shows the victim looking pale and skeletal, with his hands and legs chained. Witnesses said the padlocks had rusted from years of neglect, forcing the youths to use a saw to cut through the chains after applying red oil in an attempt to loosen the locks.
Eyewitnesses reported that despite his frail appearance, the man spoke clearly, which was a sign he was not mental unstable.
Villagers have began suspecting that the family may have had sinister motives behind his confinement.
