
Nigerian singer and entertainer Darey Art Alade expressed deep gratitude to God and the public after narrowly escaping a car fire incident that occurred on the 3rd Mainland Bridge on Tuesday.
According to a post shared on his official Instagram handle, the incident happened around 4:00 p.m. when his car suddenly caught fire and was completely razed. Though the car was burnt to the ground, no lives were lost. The driver of the vehicle reportedly escaped unhurt.
“It was a shocking and painful experience,” Darey wrote. “But we’re incredibly grateful that the driver made it out safely. No lives were lost, and that’s what truly matters.”
The multi-talented artiste, known for his soulful music and TV appearances, used the unfortunate event as an opportunity to share a reflective message on the fleeting nature of material possessions and the importance of gratitude and perspective.

“Moments like this remind us how quickly things can change and how unimportant material things become in the face of life itself,” he stated. “We’re not sharing this for sympathy but to remind someone that things can be replaced. Lives cannot.”
Darey also thanked bystanders who stopped to assist during the emergency, emphasizing that the ordeal reinforced his faith and determination.
“We’re choosing to remain thankful to God for protection, for perspective, and for the quiet strength to keep going,” he added.
The singer concluded his post with a message of hope to anyone going through unexpected loss, encouraging them to find the strength to rebuild—one breath, one prayer, and one step at a time.
The cause of the fire is yet to be officially confirmed, and no further details have been released regarding the extent of the property damage.
