Idheze, a community in Isoko, Delta State, had a dramatic turn of events on Sunday, June 8, 2025, to purge their community of insecurity.
A video of the community members in their group driving out Fulani herdsmen out of their land has gone viral, drawing the attention of social media critics, including VeryDarkMan.
In the video, the villagers were seen in large numbers, accompanying some Fulani herdsmen and their cows out of the community. Among the crowd of men were women and children singing and clapping along.
The incident has raised concerns over the government’s inaction and reluctance to address the issue of the rising insecurity in Delta state, where many have been reported killed by bandits disguised as herdsmen or the herdsmen themselves.

In a bit to retaliate, albeit not blood for blood, the Deltans opted to drive the first possible suspects from their lands, since the government of Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori has refused to answer the people’s call.
Last week, activist and former Senior Special Adviser to the governor of Delta state, Harrison Gwamnishu, led a solo protest at the government house calling on the government to do something about the insecurity in the state.
Socialite VDM, in his review of the trending video, has said the villagers cannot be blamed for taking such action since the government is paying deaf ears; however, the underlying problem is if the Northern states begin to retaliate and drive away the southerners there.
