A disturbing video has emerged showing armed kidnappers in Kwara State beating a Point-of-Sale (POS) operator and two children while demanding a N50 million ransom from their families.
The victims, who have been held in captivity for over a month, were shown in the video visibly weak, emaciated, and crying for help. The footage, believed to be filmed in a forest, captured one of the kidnappers repeatedly flogging the captives with a stick.
One of the victims has been identified as a well-known POS agent in Kwara, popularly called Yman, who was abducted in late June along with others during a series of kidnappings in Kwara North.

“They want N50 million before they’ll release them,” a relative of one of the victims said. “We’ve sold land, valuables, everything we can. We’ve even printed flyers asking for public donations. But nothing is being done by the government or security agencies.”
The latest video has sparked outrage among residents and on social media, especially as it follows previous reports that the kidnappers hijacked Yman’s WhatsApp and TikTok accounts. The terrorists have used those platforms to share disturbing videos of the captives and threaten their families.
In one video, Yman was seen pleading for food while being mocked by his captors. His phone number was used to make calls and send messages to his family, begging for rescue.
“The bandit is bold enough to show his face in the videos,” another family member said. “He knows nothing will happen to him because there’s no fear of being tracked or arrested.”
