The lady who went viral after a courtroom video showed where a judge asked her to pay 450k compensation or spend seven years in prison has spoken out. A man identified as Emmanuel had sued her for allegedly collecting transport fare without showing up.
Sharing her side of the story, the woman said she met Emmanuel online and had never seen him in person. According to her, Emmanuel wanted her to travel from Asaba to Abuja to meet him, but she declined, asking him instead to visit her.
“Before Emmanuel sent that money, I told him to come over to my city. He said no, that he doesn’t visit women. Out of nowhere, he just sent me ₦50,000, calling it transport fare to come to Abuja. Where will ₦50,000 take me from Asaba to Abuja?” she explained.

She added that when she didn’t make the trip, Emmanuel and his friends began threatening her over the money. She claimed she later offered to refund it, but Emmanuel allegedly refused and became angry.
“What if I had gone there and something happened to me? People would still blame me. Women choose to stay safe, and people still complain. What do you really want from us?” she asked.
The lady further alleged that she eventually refunded Emmanuel ₦450,000, far more than the ₦50,000 mentioned online. She also expressed frustration that some individuals secretly recorded her despite a court order prohibiting filming during the proceedings.
