A deeply disturbing video has gone viral online, showing a woman giving alcohol to a baby. According to a written caption in the video, she does that every night for the baby to sleep.
The clip, shared by influencer @ChuksEricE, captures the woman tearing open a sachet of what seems to be Triple Action Bitter with her teeth. After taking a sip herself, she gave it to the infant.
Viewers have reacted with condemnation, questioning the baby’s safety and whether the incident was a prank or a misguided attempt to seek attention on social media. An X user reacted, saying, “The worst kind of idiots are those with a smartphone. She could have easily checked the internet for safe ways to put a child to sleep, but instead, she turned on the camera to show the world that she gives alcohol to her infant to get her to sleep.”

In response, the Nigerian Police Force launched an urgent investigation. The authorities described the act as “illegal and dangerous,” stressing that giving alcohol to a child violates Nigerian child welfare laws and poses serious risks to the child’s physical and mental development.
Police spokespersons urged anyone with information on the woman’s identity or whereabouts to come forward, saying they can be reached at 0916 996 7000.
“We are aware of this distressing video and are investigating urgently. Exposing a child to alcohol is illegal and dangerous. We urge @ChuksEricE and any member of the public with valuable information that could lead to the swift apprehension of this ‘mother’ to not hesitate to provide same. They can reach out to us on 09169967000. The child’s safety is our priority.”
A lot of people have condemned the woman’s action. @RitableP wrote on X, “This is despicable! This is what happens when you marry a use/ess woman to birth your children Feeding alcohol to an innocent child is child abù$e This keeps happening because some of you men are too lazy to VET THOROUGHLY. She doesn’t even care about the health of the child.”
