Human Rights lawyer and writer, Dele Farotimi arrives Ado-Ekiti Magistrate Court on the noon of Friday December 20, 2024 for his case with Senior Advocate of Nigeria Afe Babalola.
Igbo Tv had earlier reported that the Human Rights Lawyer, Dele Farotimi was arrested by the Nigerian Police and charged to court for an alleged defamation of the person of legal veteran Afe Babalola in his book “Nigeria and its Criminal Justice System”.

A lot of Nigerians had decried the manner to which he was arrested, with many calling out the Nigerian Judiciary as living up to the description given by Dele Farotimi in his book.
The court had banned the book from the market, both in stores and digital platforms, with all Royalties forfeited to Afe Babalola the plaintiff.
On his arrival to the Magistrate court in Ado-Ekiti, the capital of Ekiti State, many supporters gathered at the court cheering him with chants, as he responded with a raised fist, while the police numbering about ten or more, guarded him into the court.
Channels Tv later reports that the court had granted Dele Farotimi a N30 million bail.
