Tragedy struck in Sapele, Delta State, last Thursday as 23-year-old Excel Ukeredi Peace was allegedly murdered by her baby daddy after she tried to end their relationship. The suspect is currently in custody at the Sapele Divisional Police Headquarters.
Screenshots of Excel’s last chats—now circulating on social media—paint a heart-wrenching picture of a young woman crying for help. In her messages, she confided in her close friend, revealing her fears, depression, and intentions to leave the relationship that ultimately cost her life.
“Babe, I wan tell you something personal wey I never tell anybody. I dey plan to leave my baby daddy because I no feel safe or happy with him again… I dey even fear to tell am… Please, no tell anybody. If I go offline or anything happen, abeg,” she wrote.

In another message, she thanked her friend for giving her strength and being a moral support, saying: “You open my eyes to see say I need to choose me first, my peace, and stop letting people use me like say my feelings no matter.”
She also expressed gratitude to a supportive sister-like friend: “Thank you for loving me the way I never even love myself sometimes… For me and for the future Excel, you go rise and shine.”
These heartbreaking words now serve as the only voice left for Excel, who reportedly suffered emotional abuse and physical assault from her baby daddy.
Excel’s family is now calling on the Delta State Police Command to ensure that the suspect faces the full wrath of the law. They are urging the authorities to resist any form of compromise or bribery in this matter as there are already rumors that the culprit is trying to bribe his way to freedom.
“When it becomes toxic and leads to assault on each other, please flee. It’s better to be single than to be in the grave,” the friend who posted the chats stated.
