Peter Obi has criticized JAMB for allegedly fixing UTME exams as early as 6:00 am, putting the lives of teenagers who travel through dangerous zones at risk.
In a post on his verified X handle, Obi described the action as “reckless” and asserted that officials are risking students’ lives every exam season.
He called for a geometric rise in Nigeria’s education system, stating that Nigeria’s limited universities and centers expose students to hazardous journeys simply to sit for examinations.

Obi compared Nigeria to Indonesia, stating that with fewer than 200 universities for over 200 million persons, Nigeria is far behind.
Meanwhile, UTME candidates across the country have been complaining of technical glitches, delays, and confusion in some CBT centers, further fueling criticisms of the examination process.
JAMB has, however, denied claims of posting candidates outside their chosen towns incorrectly, insisting that centers are assigned based on availability.
