US-Based Activist Sandra Duru Alleges N200m Bribe Offer by Senator Natasha to Frame Akpabio

U.S.-based Nigerian activist Dr. Sandra Duru, popularly known as Prof. Mgbeke, has accused suspended Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan of attempting to bribe her with ₦200 million to falsely accuse Senate President God’swill Akpabio of serious crimes, including sexual harassment and organ trafficking.

Dr. Duru made the allegation during a live Facebook broadcast, where she claimed she had submitted phone call logs and message exchanges with Senator Natasha to international forensic experts for verification. The materials, she said, contradict the senator’s public denial of any interaction between them.

According to Duru, the controversial approach began when Natasha allegedly asked her to support claims that Akpabio sexually harassed her. When that didn’t generate enough traction, Duru says Natasha pushed for a more sensational story—one linking Akpabio to the tragic 2021 murder of Iniubong Umoren, a young job seeker whose death sparked national outrage.

“She asked me to accuse Akpabio of being behind Umoren’s death and claimed her organs were harvested,” Duru alleged. “When I refused, she offered me ₦200 million to spread the story.”

The activist called on Nigerian law enforcement, the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), and global security agencies to launch a full investigation into the senator’s alleged actions—and into why she had remained silent for years if she had any genuine knowledge about the murder case.

Duru further claimed that in private conversations, Natasha admitted she had no evidence of wrongdoing by Akpabio. Instead, the allegations were part of what Duru described as a political plot.

“There was no harassment, no organ harvesting—nothing but calculated lies,” she said. “She described Nigerians as gullible and hungry and talked about a plan to bring down the so-called ‘Yoruba government’ using Akpabio as a target.”

Duru also alleged that Natasha spoke disrespectfully about prominent Nigerians, including former education minister Dr. Oby Ezekwesili, calling her unprintable names.

According to the activist, Natasha disclosed that she had been promised a political reward if she succeeded in taking down the Senate President—either the Kogi State governorship or a key federal role like Minister of Petroleum.

“It was never about Akpabio,” Duru insisted. “It was part of a larger political agenda aimed at making sure the Yoruba presidency doesn’t last beyond one term.”

She wrapped up her statement with a warning to the public: “Don’t fall for propaganda disguised as activism. It’s all political chess. Nigerians deserve better.”
