The US president elect, Donald Trump has promised to handle immigration and citizenship policies differently from his predecessor Joe Biden.
There have been complaints on the rapid increase of illegal immigrants into the US soil in President Joe Biden’s administration, who seems to have handled the matter mildly.
Donald Trump has promised that, one of his first tasks will be to send illegal immigrants back to where they came from.
“I think you have to do it. It’s a very tough thing to do. You know, you have rules, regulations, laws,” he said.

An analysis form Reuters, the Department of Homeland Security shows that over 11 million people as of January 2022 lived in the US illegally, that is, without legal permit. According to Customs and Border Protection (CBP), 10.8 million encounters has been recorded since 2021.

It now behooves on Trump’s administration to tackle the problem which had resulted in internal economic setbacks for the United States.
Trump also promised to clamp down on citizenship by birthright, a law which has existed for over a century and some decades.
He acknowledged that this move, unlike immigration policies will demand lots of time and finances, since it will mean amending the constitution.
Trump has nevertheless also promised to negotiate protections for illegal child immigrants referred to as “Dreamers,” that is people who were brought in illegally as children.
