A tragic incident has shaken the Nnewichi community in Nnewi, Anambra State, as three young siblings were found dead inside a deep freezer in their home.
The victims—a five-year-old boy and his two sisters, aged seven and nine—were reportedly murdered by unknown assailants while their mother was away.
The children, identified as Ejezie Chikaima Daviana, Ejezie Chimziterem Dominica, and Ejezie Chimdilim David, were home alone when their mother, Mrs. Chikazor Ejezie, a lecturer and nurse, left to sit for an examination.
Upon her return, she noticed the door unusually left open, a break from their routine, as the children always secured the house before stepping out.

In a heartbreaking account, their father, Mr. Ejezie Udochukwu, who resides in Irrua, Edo State, recalled receiving the devastating call from his wife on Saturday, February 1.
“When my wife got home, she couldn’t find the children. She and others searched the area, including the church where they served as altar servers, but they were nowhere to be found,” he said.
After an intense search, desperation led them to check the deep freezer—where they discovered the lifeless bodies of the three children.
“Our house is a bungalow where we live with two tenants and the landlord. The children were eating when the attackers stormed in around noon because traces of abandoned food were found in their plates. I am completely devastated—my three children killed at the same time by unknown assailants,” he lamented.
The remains of the siblings have been deposited at the morgue, while the case has been reported to the Nnewi Central Police Station.
Confirming the incident, the Anambra State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, stated that the Commissioner of Police, CP Nnaghe Itam, has ordered a full-scale investigation.
“The bodies have been recovered, and the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Awka for a thorough probe,” he said.
The tragic loss has left the community in mourning as investigations continue to uncover those behind the horrific crime.
