An American political strategist, Mike Arnold, has accused Nigerian author and political commentator, Reno Omokri, of deceit, manipulation, and self-promotion at the expense of truth.
In a lengthy post shared on X (formerly Twitter), Arnold alleged that Omokri had repeatedly lied about his connections, achievements, and involvement in humanitarian missions in Nigeria. According to Arnold, his close relationship with Omokri began during a birthday safari in Kenya and later continued when Omokri hosted him in Abuja.
Arnold claimed that Omokri fabricated several stories, including boasting about owning luxury cars that actually belonged to one of Arnold’s friends. He also accused Omokri of promising him high-profile meetings in Nigeria with President Bola Tinubu, NSA Nuhu Ribadu, and the Sultan of Sokoto—none of which happened.

The strategist further alleged that Omokri orchestrated staged photo opportunities, took undue credit for projects he did not fund, and falsely presented Arnold as the mayor of Blanco, Texas, and a close ally of U.S. Senator Ted Cruz.
Arnold went on to describe Omokri as “a pathological, self-serving liar” and “a sociopath,” accusing him of exploiting Nigeria’s Christian persecution crisis for personal gain. He also alleged that Omokri plans to run for vice president under NSA Nuhu Ribadu.
The post, which has since generated widespread reactions online, paints a damning picture of Omokri’s character and has sparked heated discussions among Nigerians at home and abroad.
