It was a sorrowful atmosphere on Saturday, March 8, 2025, for the Ejezie family and friends in their family compound in Uga in Aguata local government area of Anambra State, as their three children, murdered by unknown assailants and kept in a deep freezer, were buried.
Igbo TV had reported that three siblings, two girls and a boy identified as Chikaima, 9, Chimziterem, 8, and Chimdirim, 5, were found dead in a deep freezer, which means they were killed by people who are yet to be identified, on February 1, 2025, in Nnewichi, Nnewi North LGA of Anambra State.
On Saturday, the three siblings were interred in their family compound mentioned above, while a requiem mass was held for them by the St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Anambra.
During the sermon, Archbishop of Ekwulobia Diocese in Anambra, Ebere Okpalaeke, recalled the biblical story of Cain and Abel, according to Premium Times, honoring the young trio as martyrs, who have shared fates with the bulk of others murdered in the world since the creation of man.

He said; “Killing has been there since the biblical origin and God gave punishment to Cain who killed his brother. When God asked Cain ‘Where is your brother, Abel’ Cain said, ‘Am I my brother’s keeper?’ And God pronounced punishment on Cain for killing his brother.”
The pardre went ahead to declare curses on the assailants, saying they would know no peace.
“In the same way, curse is pronounced on anybody that has a hand in the death of these children. We condemn the killing of these children, and we say anyone who has a hand in it will not know peace.”
The event was heartbreaking, as the family and wellwishers could not hold back their tears. There was wailing and pain in the atmosphere.
The parents of the deceased, Mr and Mrs Udochukwu Ejezie, expressed gratitude to the State government, the Nigerian Police and the community for their immense support, stating that the death of their children is a nightmare, which caused them great pain.
