“She went on television; another person could have gone to Wuse market to make an allegation. And you are asking the institution to investigate?”
According to the Media Adviser to the Senate President, Eseme Eyiboh, the Senate are not going to investigate the sexual harassment allegations on their President by one of their distinguished female colleagues Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan representing Kogi State Central.
Eseme Eyiboh disclosed this on Sunday March 2, 2025, during an interview with TVC News.
The media adviser explained why Senator Natasha’s allegations cannot be investigated by the Senate, pointing out that, there is no formal petition submitted to the Senate.
The Senate cannot investigate a matter that has not been duly and formally filed in its complaint unit.

What Senator Natasha did, was go out to the public and lay accusations, according to Eyiboh, any other person would have gone to Wuse market to do same.
“She went on television; another person could have gone to Wuse market to make an allegation. And you are asking the institution to investigate?” Eyiboh said.
Former Senate President, Bukola Saraki had suggested that the Senate investigate the allegations labled against Senator God’swill Akpabio, citing similar occurrence where he faced accusations of importing an official vehicle without proper customs clearance.
Akpabio’s media adviser rejected Saraki’s suggestions, arguing that his case cannot be compared to Akpabio’s, maintaining that there is no grounds for the Senate to investigate Senator Natasha’s allegations until a formal petition has been lodged.
“What Bukola Saraki said has no place for contemplation at this level,” Eyiboh said.
“There is no petition, either to the police, court, or Senate, regarding sexual harassment.”
Eyiboh argued that Senator Natasha was just exercising her right to public communication, that is freedom of expression.
“There is no petition anywhere. There is no complainant. So from where will the Senate as an institution set up a panel?” he asked.
Meanwhile 2/3 of the 10th senate have shown solidarity for their leader, Senator Akpabio over Senator Natasha’s allegations, as the latter is being accused of falsehood.
