A recent post by one Evelyn Nneka Obasi (ENO) on Facebook has stirred conversations about love, respect, and leadership in relationships.
Drawing from the biblical story of Queen Esther and Queen Vashti, ENO emphasized the importance of women valuing leadership and men maintaining authority in their households.
According to the post, Esther’s obedience, humility, and willingness to be guided by Mordecai and her eunuch instructor prepared her for the throne. “She had value that could not be bought with money,” the writer noted, contrasting her with Vashti, who was dethroned for disobeying the king’s command.

ENO argued that many women today struggle to show appreciation, using the example of a woman who repeatedly asks a man for financial assistance without gratitude, even resorting to manipulation. She cautioned men not to overlook such subtle signs of entitlement.
The post also suggested that many women who resist cooking or carrying out simple requests for their husbands do so not because of tiredness alone, but because they lack respect or genuine love for the man. “A woman who respects you will enjoy doing things for you,” she wrote.
The writer further warned men against elevating women to a position of “god” in their lives, saying excessive praise and indulgence could fuel rebellion. She concluded by calling on men to take responsibility as heads of their households, insisting that leadership must be firmly established.
