A video has been spiraling the internet throughout the week, of a teacher hitting a child of three-years-old in a classroom of a primary school in Ikorodu area of Lagos.
In the video which drew lots of reactions and concerns from viewers and critics, had the teacher, a woman identified as Stella Nwadigbo, 45, teaching the little boy how to write, and hitting the boy when he could not write as expected.
The video got the child’s family who later involved the Family Support Unit (FSU) of the Lagos State Police Command.

Teacher Stella Nwadigbo was later arrested by the Lagos State Police on Wednesday, January 8, 2025 and transferred to the Gender Unit of the Command Headquarters the same day after investigations, while the little boy was taken to a health center for check up.
The assaulter was later arraigned in Magistrate Court 1, Ogba on Thursday, January 9, 2025, on charges of indecent treatment and assault of a minor, though she pleaded Not Guilty to the charges.
The Chief Magistrate of the Court, O. Kushanu granted her a bail of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum, and has since been remanded to Kirikiri Correctional Facility till February 18, 2025, when the case comes up for continuation of hearing.
A lot of persons condemned the woman’s actions, while some argued she should not be entirely blamed, that most parents and school system put pressure on teachers to make sure the pupils know more than their age permits.
