"Stop Speaking Negatively About Nigeria, The Worst Is Over" — President Tinubu Tells Nigerian During his Visit in Imo

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has urged Nigerians to desist from speaking negatively about the country, insisting that Nigeria has crossed a critical turning point and is now on the path to prosperity.

Tinubu, who spoke during his one-day working visit to Imo State on Tuesday, assured that citizens would soon reap the benefits of national progress as the country marks its 65th independence anniversary.

“Nigeria has just turned the corner. You will see prosperity; you will have it. Those who are talking ill of this country should stop doing so. Sixty-five years of independence is not a joke,” the President said.

Speaking at the public presentation of a book authored by Governor Hope Uzodimma in Owerri, Tinubu praised Nigeria’s founding fathers, highlighting their vision of unity, inclusiveness, and a welfare-driven society.

He emphasized that the nation must break from its old ways, which nearly brought it to collapse. According to him, the reforms of his party are already reshaping Nigeria a decade after the promise of change was first made.

“I stand before you confident yet humble enough to say that Nigeria is no longer where it was ten years ago. We have passed that. We promised a change; today I can confidently tell you that the worst is over,” he declared.

The President maintained that there is no turning back, pledging to lead Nigeria “to the mountaintop.”

As part of his visit, Tinubu inaugurated key projects executed by Governor Uzodimma, including the reconstructed 60-kilometer Owerri-Mbaise-Umuahia Federal Road, the Assumpta Flyover, and the newly built 6,000-capacity Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu International Conference Centre, Owerri.
