Women’s Rights activist Mrs. Umna Getso has given her thoughts on Senators Natasha and Akpabio’s saga in the 10th senate, stating that some women now use sexual harassment for personal interests.

Featuring in Channels TV The Morning Brief show on Monday, March 10, the 2019 Vice Presidential candidate for the Young Progressives Party (YPP) said there should be a redefinition of sexual harassment as women all over the world have taken advantage of the concept in order to get what they want.

While demanding justice in the ongoing issue between Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan of the Kogi Central and the Senate President, Senator God’swill Akpabio, she also demanded that women should be treated right.

“Let there be justice. Let women be treated right wherever they are but I am very sorry to say this to a lot of women: I’ve worked with a lot of men, national and internationally, different caliber.

“When I hear women say I am sexually harassed, there is a lot of definition to that or we need to redefine what sexual harassment is,” Getso said.

“We have seen it in a lot of places in the world, not only in Nigeria, whereby women took advantage of them being women and raise such kind of accusation for other personal interest.

She urged women to refrain from such claims, if they are not true, explaining that, issues like that is bad for women involvement in politics general as some husbands might be afraid to let their wives into politics.

“If a lady sitting in the Senate, being in that position, is now crying of being sexually harassed by a man. I know a lot of men that are allowing their women to come into the political game will be a little bit scared,” she said.
