A fresh twist in the arrest of inciting critic Martins Vincent Otse, alias VeryDarkMan, has emerged, stoking a series of speculations.
His ongoing detention has elicited widespread indignation on social media, with many demanding his release, as security agencies are mum.
Verydarkman was reportedly arrested in Abuja by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) without any official justification, over allegations of Guaranty Trust Bank’s (GTB) involvement.
In a recent update, renowned Nigerian artiste and saxophonist Seun Kuti alleged that the arrest of Verydarkman is related to his comment on a matter involving a yet-to-be-mentioned gospel artiste.

Seun Kuti stated that he made the claim based on what he heard from the lawyer of the TikToker, Deji Adeyanju.
“VDM’s lawyer is my lawyer, and we’re currently entangled in a case with GTB and other banks. There’s no bank in Nigeria that’s a good bank,” He stated.
Furthermore, Seun Kuti stated that religious figures are behind the persecution of VeryDarkMan, for choosing to speak the truth about some religious issues as well.
“As Federal government is running our country, all these big pastors dey run Nigeria. The people of God are the ones fighting VDM for speaking the truth,” he stated.
