A 19-year-old girl and her newborn child are currently receiving medical attention at a hospital in Anambra following a shocking and troubling childbirth incident.
According to reports, the young mother concealed her pregnancy from her family and gave birth alone at home on May 22, while no one else was present. Shortly after delivery, she allegedly cut the newborn baby on the neck and dumped it in a nearby gutter.

A child who was around at the moment witnessed her actions and raised the alarm, prompting residents to intervene. The baby was rescued, and the mother was found at home, bleeding heavily. Both were immediately rushed to the hospital for urgent care.
Chinenye Henrietta, who shared the story with the video on Facebook, noted that opinions are divided regarding the intent behind the baby’s injury.
While some believe the act was deliberate, others think it may have been accidental, possibly occurring during an attempt to cut the umbilical cord, which also resulted in injuries to the mother.
