The Igbo highlife music legend Bright Chimezie was driven in a Toyota Vellfire 2024 to a location where Afropop star Davido, his team, and friend, billionaire businessman Cubana Chief Priest, waited to welcome him.
Stepping out of the car, Davido was very elated to see Bright Chimezie. The singer was all smiles, dancing and mimicking the legend’s steps.
Igbo TV had earlier reported the event where Davido had a video chat with Bright Chimezie alongside Cubana Chief Priest, revealing to the legend that his trending hit track from his 5ive album titled ‘With You,’ featuring Omah Lay, was inspired by Chimezie’s popular highlife single ‘Because of English.’

Davido had asked him to go listen to the music and also announced that arrangements would be made for Bright Chimezie to come and meet him in Lagos.
In another video, Chimezie was seen vibing to Davido’s ‘With You’ and thanked Davido and CCP for acknowledging his old sound and being inspired by it.
Just as Davido promised, Bright Chimezie arrived in Lagos, as seen in a viral video, and had the opportunity to have a video chat with Davido’s uncle, the governor of Osun state, Mr. Ademola Adeleke.
He also spoke with Davido’s wife, Chioma Adeleke, and his mother-in-law, who is Chimezie’s kin from the southeast.
From the viral videos, Bright Chimezie was having a great time with Afro music icon Davido, as the 30BG kingpin known for his generous and friendly lifestyle got everyone bewildered yet again.
