Security has been tightened in Uyo, the capital of Akwa Ibom State, as President Bola Tinubu is expected to attend a grand reception for Governor Umo Eno, who recently joined the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The event, scheduled for Saturday at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, will be hosted by Senate President Godswill Akpabio and APC National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje.
Governor Eno officially defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC on June 6, during a ceremony at the Government House banquet hall in Uyo. The event was attended by key APC leaders, including Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State, who chairs the Progressive Governors’ Forum.
