Former presidential aide Reno Omokri seems to have achieved something under the Tinubu-led administration. Despite his initial attacks and accusations against the person of Bola Tinubu during the 2023 presidential campaign, even organizing a protest in the UK against Tinubu, he later started supporting Tinubu after he won the presidency.
Reno Omokri’s sudden change of alliance was not unnoticed, and he has gained from it, as he has been nominated for ambassadorial positions alongside several others.
Other political figures nominated include former Governor of Abia State Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu; former Governor of Enugu State Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi; and former legislator at the 8th senate, Senator Shehu Sani.

Although the news of their nomination has not been publicly announced, sources have told Vanguard that they are currently undergoing security screening by the Department of State Services (DSS).
“They are already undergoing security checks with the DSS. Once they are cleared, the list will be released. Only those who have been cleared are announced. The process is ongoing. I believe we should have a list before the end of the month,” the source told Vanguard.
One of the nominees also confirmed the news, though opting to remain anonymous.
