
Olori Naomi who is the former wife of Ooni of Ife in collaboration with Agidigbo 88.7 FM, Ibadan, organized a charity event to feed 5000 less privileged children.
Reports have it that, the event which took place on Wednesday December 18 ended in tragedy as 2500 more individuals stomped into the venue at the Islamic High School, Basorun and gained entrance, thereby causing chaos and stampede.
The charity event was organized for 5000 children, however, 7500 were in attendance which resulted in a stampede, claiming the lives of 32 children and leaving many injured.

There was chaos and rambling in the atmosphere of the supposed charity event, that it had to be suspended.
Speaking on the uncalculated incident, Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde sympathized with the families of the victims, and informed the public that measures have been taken to restore order and treat the injured.
He also vowed that proper investigations would be carried out, to find individuals responsible for the pandemonium, and punish them appropriately.
“We have deployed security agents to restore order, medical personnel to treat the injured, and ambulances to the scene. The event has been stopped, and attendees escorted out of the venue.
“I want to reassure our people that this incident will be thoroughly investigated, and those involved will face justice,” the Governor said.
