The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has arrested the General Overseer of Wells of Salvation Church, Reverend Pastor Prince Bassey Ajah, also known as “Daddy G.O.,” for allegedly trafficking children, including a foiled attempt to sell a 7-year-old boy for ₦1.2 million.
According to a statement released by FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, the arrest followed a May 24, 2025, distress call from officials at Wazobia Motor Park, Gwagwalada. Park authorities alerted the police about a man displaying suspicious behavior while traveling with a child.
Police operatives promptly apprehended the suspect, identified as Isreal Ajah, as he attempted to board a vehicle to Owerri, Imo State, with the minor, Muktar Hassan. Further investigation revealed that the child was handed over to him by his elder brother, Rev. Ajah.

Rev. Ajah was subsequently arrested along with two accomplices—Nancy Atoo and Deaconess Vera Duru. During a search of Atoo’s residence, police rescued a second victim, a four-year-old girl identified only as “Mercy,” believed to have been trafficked and renamed by Atoo. No documentation was found for the child, who is now in protective custody as efforts to locate her family continue.
SP Adeh stated that the suspects confessed the children were being trafficked to Owerri, where plans were underway to sell Muktar for ₦1.2 million—a deal allegedly arranged by Deaconess Duru.
Muktar Hassan has since been reunited with his family. Police investigations into the child trafficking ring are ongoing.
