The Senate President of Nigeria, Senator God’swill Akpabio, on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, paid a visit to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.
Photos of the meeting were posted by the minister’s spokesman, Lere Olayinka, on X, stating thus: “The Uncommon Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, during his visit to the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, in his residence today.”
In the photos, the two Niger Delta political warlords, despite being members of opposing parties, were seen smiling and sharing good moments.

Some years ago when Wike was the Governor of Rivers State and Akpabio was Minister of Niger Delta, they had a little verbal exchange during the commissioning of an NDDC project in Rivers State.
However, the case is different today; despite their political affiliations, they are both ardent members of the Tinubu cabal.

Though there was no official press release as to the reason for their their meeting, however, it points in one direction. Happening the same day a State of emergency was declared in Rivers State, where Wike has been greatly involved in a power tussle with the elected governor, Similayalani Fubara.
