The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has publicly called for the release of Olumide Ogunsanwo, popularly known as “Seaking,” a Nigerian TikToker who was re-arrested on February 6 for alleged cyberbullying.
During a sermon at his church on February 7, Pastor Adeboye denied any involvement in the arrest, stating that he had no issues with the content creator.
“I heard that there was someone who lambasted me thoroughly. What is my offense? Because I asked my people to fast for 100 days. I didn’t ask him; I didn’t even ask anybody who isn’t a member of the Redeemed Christian Church of God to fast. Only my children! God said that it would happen,” Adeboye said. He then urged those responsible for the arrest to “release him. He is fulfilling prophecy.”
Reports indicate that Seaking’s arrest was based on a petition written against him by one Paul James Adama, who accused the TikToker of cyberbullying Pastor Adeboye.

However, sources suggest that Seaking had also been vocal in his criticism of Nigerian political leaders, including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun.
This has led to speculation that his detention may not be solely related to the alleged defamation of the RCCG leader.
Activist and media personality Omoyele Sowore has condemned the arrest, calling it an attack on free speech. Sowore stated that authorities are increasingly using cyberbullying charges as a tool to silence critics and social media commentators.
Seaking’s arrest has sparked discussions on social media about the limits of free speech in Nigeria, with many questioning whether his comments warranted such legal action.
