Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has sparked a wave of reactions with his recent social media post, where he urged Nigerians to stop blaming “village people” for their problems and instead take responsibility for their lives.
Yul also challenged the over-reliance on religious solutions to life’s challenges, suggesting that combining traditional knowledge with spiritual guidance might be more effective.
In the post, Yul, who has gained popularity for his of traditional and cultural portrayals, though some time had claimed he was a Pastor, wrote:
“Nobody hold you for village. Village people don’t even have your time. They’re busy trying to make headway in their own lives. Na you hold yourself. Go home, go traditional, and ask questions about your life. Know who you are, where you come from, and where you should be heading to. Church doesn’t solve everything.”
