According to eyewitness reports, the pastor had commanded the armed robbers, who came only to take valuables in the name of Jesus, to drop their guns and repent; however, instead of dropping their guns, they fired multiple close-range shots at him.
“I command you in the name of Jesus, drop that gun and repent!” an eyewitness confirmed he had said.
The armed robbers, after shooting him dead, took valuables and escaped the scene.

Pastor Mike was giving a sermon to church members, who are mostly Nigerians in the area, when the armed men stormed in to steal from the people.
And when the ‘Man of God’ stepped up to declare the power of his faith by commanding them to drop the guns and repent, he was instead silenced with bullets.

The church’s spokesperson, while confirming the sad incidentsaid, “He died believing in the power of Christ, but this is a reminder that the world we live in is dangerous.”
Another member of the church said amid sobs, “He was a man of peace, always preaching salvation. He never thought this would happen to him.”
Meanwhile, South African authorities have launched an investigation into the killing of the pastor, as Nigerians in South Africa complain about the security challenges they face in South Africa, which has a xenophobic nature.
