The Nigerian Army has intensified counterterrorism and anti-crime operations across several states, neutralizing dozens of terrorists, dismantling criminal networks, and rescuing kidnapped victims in a wave of coordinated offensives following heightened global attention on Nigeria’s security situation after U.S. President Donald Trump threatened possible military intervention over alleged Christian persecution.
In the North East, troops under Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) launched a series of successful missions between October 25 and 31, 2025, thwarting multiple terrorist attacks across Borno and Adamawa States.
According to a statement by the Army, soldiers repelled a suicide attack in Kukawa, destroyed a Vehicle-Borne Improvised Explosive Device (VBIED) with tank fire, and intercepted terrorist logistics networks. Several insurgents were neutralized in ambush operations in Gwoza, Dikwa, Bama, and Madagali, with weapons, ammunition, and explosives recovered.

The Air Component Command also conducted precision airstrikes, supporting ground troops and ensuring the destruction of terrorist positions. Notably, five suspects linked to Boko Haram/ISWAP were captured in Adamawa, with arms and narcotics recovered during a search operation.
Meanwhile, in Kogi State, troops of the 12 Brigade Nigerian Army rescued two kidnapped victims from a criminal gang operating along the Itobe–Adumu–Ejule axis. Acting on credible intelligence, soldiers engaged the kidnappers in Achigili Forest, forcing them to flee and abandoning the victims along with ₦3.8 million ransom cash meant for their release.
Military officials reaffirmed their commitment to defending the nation and restoring peace, urging citizens to provide credible intelligence to aid ongoing operations.
