Report reaching Igbo Tv has it that, a gruesome accident which nearly took 18 lives including that of a newlywed couple occurred on the Third Mainland Bridge, near Ilaje, Lagos State.
The crash involved a commercial LT bus (BFG 204 XF) carrying 18 individuals, and a mini truck (AGL 22 YE) which had a fault and was driving slowly.

The driver of the LT bus is said to have been driving at high speed, and couldn’t control the vehicle when it came across the truck because of a failed brake, so they collided.
The victims of the accident were all severely injured, but no life was lost. They were rescued from the trampled vehicle by collaborated efforts of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), the Lagos State Ambulance Service (LASABUS), and the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA).

They were all rushed to the hospital for medical attention. Some were taken to the Lagos State Trauma and Emergency Centre, while others that suffered intense physical damage were rushed to Gbagada General Hospital for special attention.
Speaking on the incident, the General Manager of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), Olalekan Bakare-Oki, sympathized with the victims of the crash, and urged drivers and road users to be more careful especially during this festive season.
