Popular Yoruba actress Habibat Jinad has opened up about the harrowing abuse she suffered in her previous marriage.
In a recent interview shared on Iambimpeakintunde’s official Instagram page, she revealed how her ex-husband repeatedly assaulted her — and how the violence escalated to the point where even his younger brother physically attacked her, ultimately knocking out her teeth
“My Husband Beat Me So Much That Even His Brother Joined. The worst thing that could ever happen to a lady is marrying into a toxic family.” She revealed during the interview.
“My advice to women looking forward to marriage is to pray they don’t end up with a bad family. My ex-husband’s family was incredibly tough and wicked. Even though my ex-husband had his flaws, he was still a good person in some ways.

“But at some point things started to change between us, and I kept wondering what went wrong. He became violent, constantly beating me. It got so bad that even his younger brother started hitting me – and in one of those incidents, he knocked out my teeth.” Habibat concluded
Reacting to this story, some social media users threw questions at Habibat, asking what she did to defend herself, or if she just watched them hit her in such way. Some even asked why she didn’t leave the marriage at the onset of this brutality.
However, Habibat’s story here serves as a chilling reminder of the struggles many women face in abusive marriages, and also serves as a warning to every woman in any new or abusive relationship to leave at the sign of any brutality. No woman deserves to go through an abusive marriage.
