Report reaching Igbo Tv has it that a man who was to be wedded in less than 24 hours was shot dead by some unidentified gunmen.

This happened along the Onitsha-Ihiala-Owerri expressway, opposite Sky Prince Petrol Station near Okohia junction in Anambra State, on November 22.

The murdered groom, identified as Bright Ezechukwu, was supposed to have his wedding with his fiancée Chiwendu, on November 23 in Ihiala Local Government Area, Anambra State, before his life was snatched from him.

According to eye-witness reports, it was a premediated attack, with a mission to not let Mr. Bright live, because he pleaded with them and even gave them everything he had with him, yet they still killed him.

While narrating the incident, Bright’s younger brother said, that Bright, his fiancée, the best man and one of the bride’s maid were heading to the community where the marriage was supposed to hold, however, Bright met his waterloo on the way.

They were riding on a motorcycle; while Bright rode on one, carrying one of the bride’s maid, his best man carried the bride on a different motorcycle, but they were ahead of Bright after he stopped to get fuel at Ezego junction in Ihiala.

When the best man and Bright’s bride arrived their destination, they soon discovered Bright was not following them, they called him, but his line was unreachable, so the best man rode back to check on him, where he met the lifeless body of Bright ensanguined on the road.

An eye witness confirmed that the culprits also rode on a bike. They cornered Bright and pointed a gun towards him. After taking everything from him, which included his phone and a food flask, they shot him dead amid his pleas to be spared his life, and drove off.

“They took all his items and still killed him,” the witness said. “Bright was a kind person who would readily give you his food for peace to reign. These hoodlums took everything from him, including the food in a flask they were going to eat that night.

“Even when Bright pleaded with them to let him live, as he was about to wed, they shot him dead, denying him the joy of being a husband and a happy man.”
