Suspended Kogi State lawmaker Mrs. Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has tendered an apology to former Minister of Education Oby Ezekwesili over the verbal encounter with Ebonyi State legislator Senator Nwaebonyi during the investigation process of Mrs. Natasha Akpoti’s petition.
Mrs. Natasha took to her X handle to tender her apologies to Mrs. Ezekwesili, who represented her at the senate’s committee on Ethics, Privileges, and Public Petitions, saying she took the insults for her as a mother and as a leader.
She called her a true icon of integrity, courage, and visionary leadership, saying that her unwavering commitment to good governance, education, and democracy continues to inspire generations.
Mrs. Akpoti also acknowledged Ezekwesili’s brilliance, calling her a champion of accountability and a hero.

Natasha’s petition was dismissed after the brawl between Senator Nwaebonyi, representing Senate President Akpabio (the accused), and Oby Ezekwesili, who represented Natasha Akpoti (the petitioner).
The petition was dismissed as Akpabio’s legal counsel, Mrs. Akiyode, raised an argument, saying, “If the committee had already dismissed Natasha’s initial petition as ‘dead on arrival,’ why did they entertain this one, only to throw it out again? It clearly shows a lack of consistency and due process.”
In like manner, Mrs. Oby Ezekwesili replied to Natasha’s post on X, welcoming her words as kind, saying, “A torrent of insults is but a little price to pay in our resolve to see a Nigerian that Becomes.”
“Our daughters and granddaughters must never inherit battles and wars we should have fought and won for them.
“An unjust society that silences women and vulnerable people can never Become. We must all refuse that for Nigeria,” she wrote in reply.
